Coconut Milk Instructions
- Empty the dessicated coconut into the bucket.
- Add 600ml boiling water to the coconut.
- Blend with stick blender about 5minutes.
- Allow to cool to hand temperature.
- Open the nut bag, put in a container that is big enough to hold the bag.
- Pour the coconut and water mixture into the bag, pull the drawstring closed.
- Squeeze the bag and catch the milk in the container
- The yield should not be less than 500ml milk.
- The milk can be frozen and defrosted to use at a later stage.
- Store in the fridge for as long as a week, store in a glass container that can be put in the microwave.
- The milk will separate because it is not homogenized, can be heated to dissolve the fat and shaken up.
- The coconut can be dried and milled to use as coconut flour at a later stage.
The bag can be used to make rice milk and other nut milks. Rice milk is made with ¾ cup white rice and 4 cup boiling water, proceed as for coconut milk.
Coconut milk contains the most amount of fat of all the plant milks.
